A New Path...

So I’ve done some research, and I’m going to be starting a regime of Vitex (aka chaste berry) and Cinnamon supplements, and Metformin will be no more! I’m cautiously optimistic about this plan of action. My gut feeling is that this is the answer I was looking for, but I’m not going to get my hopes up just yet. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I have about 3 different posts in the works that I can’t seem to finish. Hopefully today will be a breakthrough day and I’ll actually get one posted!

My mom told me about cinnamon--I hope it works for you! :)

My doc hasn't prescribed metformin yet but when/if he does, I think I'm going to look into the cinnamon again too.

Have you ever tried progesterone cream? I just bought some that is 100% natural... and it seems to be helping some.

If you're not going the met anymore, I would recommend trying to follow a strict low glycemic index diet (if you're not already). Hopefully you'll see some results with your new regimen.

Yay! I hope the chaste berry and cinnamin helps you! There are so many helpful herbs, the key is what part of the cycle to use them. A side note about progesterone - it works wonders when used at the correct time. The cream can only be used AFTER you know you have ovulated, otherwise it could keep you from ovulating. If you use it you must use it only after you have ovulated and then until you start your period, then stop. Then you pick it back up again after the next time you know you've ovulated. The week you are going to ovulate(if you can track this happening), try a cough medicine that contains guaifenesin only!!! That will help with cervical mucous and make is perfect for carrying those spermies to the egg and keeping them alive. Sometimes the CM is hostile to sperm and causes problems with conceiving. Hey, with infertility we sometimes have to pull out all the stops. Keep trying.. nothing works overnight but there's a formula that works..just have to find keep at it. It's trial and error. When conventional medical intervention doesn't work, sometimes we have to be our own fertility scientist! Be safe though! Research! :)Good luck Jill and God bless. Leeny

I haven't heard of this regime but I'm anxious to hear if it works for you! I stopped taking my Met a few weeks ago. My doctor had be on 2000mg which I think is too much for me. Good luck!

I have PCOS too and am trying the Vitex this cycle. I haven't noticed a difference yet, but I've heard it can take a couple of months to take effect. Hope it works for you!
