The faces of Autism

I think I've talked about my baby brother who has Aspergers syndrome. He started his very first job today. He graduates from High School on Friday. He's starting college in the fall. He's going to be rich one day!

This is my beautiful niece, Abigail. Today she was diagnosed with "functioning Autism." They will have to do more test to find out where she fits on the spectrum. I know things are different now than they were when Benny was diagnosed, but it's still going to be a long, hard road for her to travel.

I will be there for her every step of the way.

Wow Benny seems to be making amazing progress with his life. That is so awesome.
My first gf, her little brother had autism and we became quite close. He has grown and changed SO much in the past few years.

Your niece is very lucky to have someone there for her throughout her life, through thick and thin.
That is what family is about
She is such a beautiful little girl.

Congrats to Benny! And Abigail is beautiful. Things are different now, but only because of amazing families and relatives who continue to push envelopes and demand that things be different. No doubt you will be there for her. No doubt in my mind.

(sorry you're having some crappy, frustrating days. be kind to yo'self)
