My life in the computer
I'm on the computer A LOT. At work, I stare at the computer screen all day and, well, work. Then I come home and immediately run up to my desk and check the things I can't check at work (ie, personal email accts, myspace, facebook..)I keep in touch with almost all of my friends via message boards and email. I'm trying to earn us a bit of money by opening up an ebay store, and so I've been spending HOURS trying to figure out the ins and outs of that whole thing. Probably 80% of my awake time is on the computer. The other 20% is spent cooking or cleaning or driving or you know, living. Is that sad?

Here from ICLW. I don't know that it's sad! It's the only way I truly keep in touch with family and friends now-a-days as well, since I can't stand using the phone more than absolutely necessary!
Same here. Sad huh? I have managed to squeeze in the gym in between sessions online though.
ditto.. i telecommute therefore i am in front of a computer 90% of my waking hours. we have 4 computers in our house.. it's a bit obsessive! good luck with the ebay store!
I think this is how things are for many of us these days...before I got married, I worked outside the home at a non-desk job (I was a teacher), and when I got home, I would be on the computer maybe an hour, two max. These days I'm on all day long for class, and then when class is over, it's time for blogging, researching IF, etc, etc...
is it also sad when all your friends are in the computer, cause that is so my life! I don't think its sad you are on the comp, its just the way our generation works!

Here from ICLW...I spend WAY too much time in front of the computer. Eight hours a day and then I'm sucked in again at night...I used to teach and was seldom on the computer. Oh yeah, and my jeans used to fit.
I go back and forth on this with myself. I really enjoy all the time I spend on the computer reading blogs, writing mine, and so on, but sometimes I wonder whether it's more akin to reading a book or watching TV (the former, right?). Sometimes my husband complains that I don't even hear him when he asks me something because I have my head in the computer for hours on end. I guess as long as we still have meaningful relationships with people IRL, it's probably okay.
I hear you on this one - I spend too much time on the computer! Most of which when I should be sleeping! iclw
Hola from ICLW!
I think that's the world we live in. Most of us spend the majority of our time on the computer doing something or another. Sometimes I wonder...how did I exist before computers & the internet?!?
I don't think it is sad at all! I feel like I can't get my day started without checking in on my blogs and email and such. I could do worse things with my time!
Ditto - I spend entirely too much time on the computer! It's the new boob tube.
Visiting for ICLW.
Hi from icomleavwe!
I agree I think that I too spend way too much time on the computer and my iPhone (aka ball and chain). Sadly, I think hyper-connectedness is the new 'norm'.
I am on the computer just as much. :-)
I think that you are very pretty by the way.
I don't think it's sad. Have you seen the 'new' facebook? I hate it.
I'd love to hear more about the eBay store.
ICLW as well.. My husband and I are exactly the same way. We come home and check the stuff that we did not even 10 hours ago. It's quite compulsive.
I'm thinking of boycotting the internet, but it's too addicting for its own good!
Hi!
I also spend a significant amount of time in front of the PC. Still trying to structure my time there healthier - like maybe exercising before starting, doing stretches in between, stopping to do some house work.
It's tough sometimes since I want to finish what I started and that can take a little longer than expected because sometimes I take a detours to where the Internet beckons me.
Giggled while reading your post on Hubs postponed SA. I just posted a similar one re my DH - I guess he had no choice!
I'm on my summer vacation right now and I totally relate. I do drag myself away from the computer for spurts throughout the day to actually get things done. But I have to admit its a bit of an obsession with me.
